P3P supports youth from underprivileged neighbourhoods through sports and coaching initiatives.

Youths from underprivileged families or environments are three to four times more likely to fall behind in elementary and high school. They are twice as likely to have learning disabilities and three times as likely to have severe behavioural disorders in high school.

PSP coaches help youth gain the skills needed to succeed in both school and life using a program developed in collaboration with the Sports Psychology Research Lab at McGill University.

SAFE

SAFE’s (Sanctuaire pour animaux de ferme de l’Estrie) story begins with three big pigs –Pumba, Matilda and Oreo – who escaped on their way to a slaughterhouse in Eastern Ontario. They wandered into Catherine’s life, who knew this was the sign she needed to start her animal rescue. One by one, many animals have joined the SAFE family, some very narrowly escaping slaughter, and/or a life filled with pain. Here, they have found a place to live out their lives in peace, free from fear and suffering.

SAFE’S mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and educate with the dream of a better future for farm animals everywhere.

NWSM

The Native Women’s Shelter provides a safe environment where women can begin to rebuild their lives. They offer support and frontline services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children to promote their empowerment and independence.

The NWSM is the only women’s shelter in Montreal that provides services exclusively to Indigenous women and their children.

Women are offered an up to three month stay in one of 13 private rooms, many of which are capable of accommodating more than one person so that women may stay with their children.

BLACK WOMEN IN MOTION

Black Women in Motion is a Toronto-based, youth-led organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black womxn and survivors of sexual violence. BWIM works within an anti-racist, intersectional feminist, trauma-informed and survivor-centred framework to create culturally-relevant content, educational tools, healing spaces and economic opportunities for black womxn.

BREASTFEEDING CLINIC

The Hertz-Goldfarb Breastfeeding Clinic at the JGH is a specialized referral centre for mothers and babies who are experiencing complex and significant breastfeeding problems. In 2019, the clinic received over 6,700 visits but is only able to accommodate 30% of the referrals it receives each month, leaving many women and babies without the proper support they need. The JGH Breastfeeding Clinic’s vision is to help mothers overcome challenges and attain their breastfeeding goals.
